What is a Virtual Power Plant?

A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of distributed energy resources—like home batteries—that work together to support the electrical grid. When demand is high, these batteries can discharge power back to the grid, helping prevent blackouts and reducing strain on traditional power plants.

In Texas, where grid reliability has become increasingly important, VPPs offer a modern solution that benefits both homeowners and the community.
